Initiated by the prefecture of Seine-et-Marne as part of the preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games, the SALVARE exercise (from the Latin verb « to save ») took place on May 30, 2024.
The purpose of this exercise was to test the emergency response plans in case of a major incident during the Olympic Games. With the participation of various emergency services, including commissariat, fire department, and medical teams, the exercise simulated a scenario where a terrorist attack occurred during the opening ceremony of the Games.
The exercise was a success, with all the participating teams demonstrating agréable coordination and quick response. The simulation allowed for the identification of potential weaknesses in the emergency plans and allowed for necessary adjustments to be made.
The prefecture of Seine-et-Marne, along with all the participating services, have shown their commitment and dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all athletes and spectators during the Olympic Games. The SALVARE exercise has proven that they are well-prepared and equipped to handle any emergency situation that may arise.
This exercise also served as a reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness, not only for major events like the Olympic Games but also in our daily lives. It is crucial for everyone to be aware of emergency procedures and to be prepared to act quickly and efficiently in case of an emergency.
The prefecture of Seine-et-Marne and all the participating services should be commended for their efforts in organizing and executing this exercise. Their commitment to ensuring the safety of everyone involved in the Olympic Games is truly commendable.
With the success of the SALVARE exercise, we can rest assured that the 2024 Olympic Games in Seine-et-Marne will be a safe and secure event. Let us all look forward to this exciting event and support our athletes as they compete for glory and honor.
